Abstract

 

In this talk, I would like to review the usages of MEMs based solutions in wrist worn and head worn wearable products released by Intel in the last few years. I would like to focus on existing use cases and also motivate the new use cases for next generation products and what type of sensors and actuators would be ideal for such applications.

Rajashree ‘Raji’ Baskaran, is a Principal Engineer and Director of sensor solutions with the New Devices Group at Intel Corporation. Raji has 15+ years’ experience in the MEMS and Semiconductor industry at various capacities including semiconductor process, packaging, system level integration and supply chain analysis. Raji’s leads the sensor solution architecture for the wrist, head and other wearable platforms and products within Intel. Raji is also an active participant in the technical and business due diligence for sensor/MEMS related investments by Intel Capital. Raji has more than 15 US and International patents and is an IEEE Senior member. She has served in the Technical Program Committees of the leading MEMS conferences including IEEE MEMS, IEEE Sensors, and Transducers and as reviewer of NSF/DARPA SBIR over the past 10 years. She is an Affiliate Professor at the Electrical Engineering department at University of Washington, Seattle. She has a Masters from Cornell University and Ph.D. from University of California, Santa Barbara both specializing in Micro Electro Mechanical Systems.
